Project Overview

Relevant, real and raw, Beyond The Wall: Homeless Zone is a social documentary that takes an un-skewed look into the issue of veteran homelessness; depicting the stories of veterans living in a Washington, DC shelter and sharing insights gleaned from the organizations and charities that provide crucial support and work to better understand the factors that contribute to the risk of homelessness among veterans.

Beyond The Wall: Homeless Zone reveals the first-hand experiences and knowledge of the Americans who support these displaced former servicemen and women and features the journey of one veteran’s quest to rebuild his personal and spiritual foundation.

Scheduled for its online debut Veterans Day, November 11, 2008 Beyond The Wall: Homeless Zone weaves these people, profiles and places into a story-telling triumvirate of video and journalistic and narrative via a platform Web site, to reach a regional and national audience.

OUR MISSION & GOALS

Beyond The Wall: Homeless Zone is a media awareness campaign designed to engage, educate and embrace audiences, in a non-biased manner, to actively participate in the effort to end and prevent homelessness among veterans.

Through Beyond The WallHomeless Zone.com, Ironcutter Media will shed light on this impacting issue in a way that is honest, insightful and has the ability to reach a national audience.

Using dynamic media to present information, the goal of Beyond The Wall: Homeless Zone is three-fold:

1. Accurately and honestly document homeless veterans and the people who support them in a non-exploitive, non-biased manner.

2. Raise awareness and foster discussion of an issue that has potential to become a growing concern.

3. Provide citizens with resources to help end and prevent homelessness among veterans by educating them on ways to support their heroes of war and the organizations that care for them.
